Man, 21, Shot While Walking On Holly Street

A young man walking down Holly Street was shot Tuesday afternoon.

At 2:31 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting near 1111 S Holly. The 21-year-old victim reported to investigators that he was walking down the street when three black males approached him. After a verbal altercation, one of the suspects physically assaulted him and shots were fired.

The suspects fled the scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital via a personally-owned vehicle where he was treated for the non-life-threatening injury.

The investigation is ongoing.

Woods Fire Breaks Out Near Lookout Mountain Hang Gliding Venue

A woods fire broke on Sunday night near the Lookout Mountain hang gliding venue, and it was continuing to burn on Monday. The blaze, that started around 10 p.m., was near Scenic Highway and Fox Trail. Georgia Forestry officials said an abandoned home and a radio tower for Dade County were in the line of the fire.
