Members Named To New Animal Control Board

Members of a new Chattanooga Animal Control Board have been named.

City Attorney Mike McMahan said the group will have an orientation and begin holding meetings after the first of the year.

It will have authority over certain aspects of animal control, while working closely with the McKamey Animal Center.

Board members are:

District 1 - Lynn Ashton named by Councilwoman Deborah Scott

District 2 - Lacie Newton Stone named by Councilwoman Sally Robinson

District 3 - Brenda Nunn named by Councilwoman Pam Ladd

District 4 - Georgianna Yurjevic named by Councilman Jack Benson

District 5 - Angelia Brewer named by Councilman Russell Gilbert

District 6 - Tammy Stone named by Councilwoman Carol Berz

District 7 - Mike Mallen named by Councilman Manny Rico

District 8 - John Sweet named by Councilman Andrae McGary

District 9 - Nancy Brice named by Councilman Peter Murphy


13 In Custody On Federal Cocaine Charges In Tennessee And Alabama

A total of 13 people from Eastern Tennessee, and Huntsville, Al., have been arrested by agents of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). Gormanson Charged In Traffic Death Of 20-Year-Old Christopher Blake Hicks

Dominick Gormanson, 20, has been charged in the June 29, 2012, traffic death of Christopher Blake Hicks, 20, of Ringgold. Gormanson was indicted by the Hamilton County Grand Jury on charges of vehicular homicide and reckless endangerment. The victim was a 2010 graduate of Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School. Tennessee-Georgia All-Star Baseball Game Moved to Wednesday

There has been a change to the schedule for the Tennessee-Georgia All-Star Baseball Classic.
