Julian Lankford Burke, Sr., 80, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at his home.
He retired from Honeywell as a Quality Control Inspector. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He attended Five Stones Fellowship with his family and was a member at First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joe Bishop Burke; parents, Vernon and Laura Orr Burke; sister, Leatha Silvers; and brother, Donald Burke.
He is survived by his son, Julian L. Burke, Jr. and wife, Kristi of Cleveland; grandchildren, Ezekiel “Zeke” Burke and Ema Leigh Burke, both of Cleveland; sisters, George Faye Bishop of Cleveland and Virginia Jo Burch of Chatsworth, GA; brothers, Forrest Burke of Cleveland and Boyle Burke of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 31, at Benton Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Jason Roberts and the Reverend Mike Varner officiating.
His family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, December 30 at Grissom Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
