Express 2000 Girls Red Win Vulcan Cup Tournament

The East Ridge Soccer Association Express 2000 Girls Red soccer team won the prestigious Vulcan Cup Soccer Tournament in Birmingham, AL this past weekend. The Vulcan Cup is one of the Southeast's premier soccer tournaments and typically host over 300 teams from 14 states and Canada.

The Express won games in the U12 11v11 Gold bracket against Gwinett Soccer Association (GA), SKY Blue (KY), FC Alliance (Knoxville, TN) and Alpharetta Ambush (GA).

Members of the team include Lauren Barcelona, Rachel Beard, Lainee Bohannon, Anna Croxall, Brooke Dunham, Taylor Ellis, Maddie Ferrel, Olivia Hoffman, Lily Hopping, Julia Kaset, Allie McAllister, Lili Oren, Ara Rhodes, Hope Sanders, and Olivia Tawzer.

The team is coached by Jason Kaset and Hank Hopping. They also receive foot skills training from Kris Ray of Elite Soccer Training and workout at D1 Sports Training of Chattanooga.

Man Shot In Home Invasion Early Wednesday Morning

A man was shot in a home invasion early Wednesday morning.   Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot on the 6000 block of Arlena Circle at 4:40 a.m. Upon arrival, police located the victim, Edward Greatheart, 41,  who was suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.   Mr. Greatheart was treated on the scene and transported to a local hospital ...
