The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga will host the third session of its first annual Health Symposia Series, a set of strategic events uniting organizations, initiatives, and community leaders to build stronger communication and collaboration for collectively addressing urgent public health issues throughout the region, officials said.
This third event, focused on - HIV/AIDS Prevention and Education - will involve brief presentations on several local and statewide efforts seeking to prevent the spread of HIV as well as educate the public on resources available for those living with HIV/AIDS.
The presentations will be followed by interactive focus groups designed to stimulate discussions on the symposium subject matter and generate feedback and ideas to support existing work and create new opportunities.
The event is set for Tuesday, June 26, from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Urban League, Kingdom Center room. Lunch will be provided. Make a reservation to lragins@ulchatt.net if planning on attending.
Also, in recognition of National HIV Testing Day, the Urban League is partnering with Chattanooga Cares to offer Free HIV Testing on Wednesday, June 27. The testing will be held at the Urban League from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. No appointment is required.
