Two new staff members have been announced for Signal Crest United Methodist Church on Signal Mountain. Both appointments became associate ministers, effective yesterday. They will share congregational care responsibilities, hospital visits and preaching responsiblities with the senior minister.
The Rev.
Barry Kidwell will be serving as Director of Urban Ministries. He will seek to establish and develop an urban campus in downtown Chattanooga, under the leadership and direction of Signal Crest's Church Council. In the beginning he will split his time serving on Signal Mounain and in downown Chattanooga. The Chattanooa District and the Holston Conference will provide support for this ministry. A number of church members have expressed an interest in helping with the ministry and more are expected once it gets underway.
The Rev. Elizabeth Sullivan will also serve as an associate at Signal Crest. A recent graduate of Candler School of Theology at Emory University with a Master of Divinity degree, her official title will be Direcor of Discipleship. She will focus on helping each member mature as disciples as they experience grace, grow in grace, and share the grace of God.
