A General Sessions Court judge has put the brakes on a man who has had four DUIs in Hamilton County in less than two months.

Thomas Gregory Longley, 49, of 2412 Columbine Trail, has five DUIs on his record, including the four recent ones. He got one April 26, then back-to-back ones on Thursday and Friday of last week and another one on Thursday of this week.

On Thursday of last week, he crashed into the back of a car on Lee Highway, causing injuries. He fled the scene. On Friday, he was observed by an officer crossing the center line on Shallowford Road.

In several of the DUI stops, police found open containers of alcohol in his vehicle.

Judge David Bales on Friday set a $150,000 bond for Longley.

He also ordered that an interlock device be placed on his car. With such a device, the car will not operate unless the driver blows into an alcohol detector and there is no trace of alcohol.

Judge Bales also directed that a SCRAM ankle device be placed on Longley.

If it detects any alcohol in the body, it alerts personnel who are monitoring the device.
