Registration Now Open For Art Creations' Summer Series Of Art Classes

Saturday, June 30, 2012

Registration is now underway for the summer series of art classes at Art Creations Hamilton Place.

The current schedule includes 14 classes designed by Sandra Washburn, Art Creations’ director of art education and senior instructor, to appeal to a wide variety of students from novices to professionals of all ages.

“After almost a year of conducting quarterly classes, we’ve learned much about the appeal of certain classes and renew them each season, but we also add new instructors and classes to broaden the scope and appeal of our curriculum to attract new students,” Washburn said.

Washburn, an accomplished artist in her own right, has gathered some of the region’s finest artists to teach the classes, which include everything from painting to illustration in a variety of disciplines, drawing and cartooning, as well as children’s classes and several aimed at teens and young adults. At least one requires no knowledge of art at all.

"A different class takes place on each day of the week, sometimes several a day, during the upcoming semester and were designed to meet the hectic schedules of artists who want to learn and improve their techniques," said Washburn. "We try to make our classes both affordable and accessible to almost every budget and schedule."

Classes are conducted at Art Creations Hamilton Place studios, located at 7351 Commons Blvd. (behind Smokey Bones). The current class schedule begins in late July and students can view course descriptions, read biographies of instructors and register online at www.art-creations.com or in-store at Hamilton Place.

In business since 1972, Art Creations is Chattanooga's oldest independent art supply and framing store with two locations - 201 Frazier Ave. in the historic George Little Building on the North Shore, and the new Hamilton Place location, at 7351 Commons Blvd., which will celebrate its first anniversary in September.

Thanks, Sheriff

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Department is very responsive and professional out in Apison, and I appreciate that.  We have some fine deputies serving Hamilton County.    I took a minute to call and tell them thank you, I hope my neighbors will also. Brian Wood Apison (click for more)

Roy Exum: Please Send Me Funny Jokes
