Jackson Hewitt Taps Former Krystal Company Marketing Executive As New CMO

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc., the nation’s second largest tax preparation firm, on Tuesday announced that it has named D. Michael Williams to the position of senior vice president and chief marketing officer. In this position, Mr. Williams will have overall responsibility for the development and implementation of Jackson Hewitt’s strategic marketing plan.

Sanford, president and chief executive officer of Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. “Mike’s extensive experience in senior marketing positions in franchise businesses, and his record of success in brand positioning, market segmentation, creative and marketing resource allocation, will be a significant contributor to the achievement of our goal to attract new clients, retain existing clients and enhance our market share.”
 
Mr. Williams has held various senior marketing positions over the course of his career, including CMO at Steak ‘n Shake, SVP of Marketing at Direct General Corporation and VP of Marketing at The Krystal Company, based in Chattanooga. He also held marketing management positions at Wendy’s International and LensCrafters. Prior to these marketing roles, Mr. Williams was a senior consultant with Andersen Consulting, a unit of Arthur Andersen & Co. LLP. He began his career with PEI Associates, Inc., as a project manager.

Mr. Williams holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration from Miami University.
 

Mr. Williams currently resides with his family in Nashville.
