Chattanooga Begins Second Half Play Thursday Night At Home

The Lookouts will face the Huntsville Stars Thursday night in the opening game of the second half of the 2002 season.

Final Game of First Half At Huntsville

Keith Luuloa and Lance Burkhart each hit a home run to help the Huntsville Stars down the Chattanooga Lookouts, 7-4.

Alex Hernandez hit a two-run homer and Ray Olmedo recorded an RBI for the Lookouts, who fell to 18-21 on the road.

Scott Dunn (4-4) surrendered five runs, six hits and three walks with nine strikeouts over five frames in defeat.

Luuloa belted a two-run shot in the fourth inning for his first Class AA longball since 1998 and Burkhart led off the sixth with his second homer in his last three games.

Bill Scott, Jared Mathis and Doug Dent each drove in a run for Huntsville, which improved to 7-5 against Chattanooga this season.

Dent (2-0) yielded a pair of runs and five hits, striking out four in six innings to capture the win.

The Southern League takes a two-day break for the All-Star game played in Sevierville June 19th.
