Brainerd Walmart Customer Fires At Truck Thief On Parking Lot

Chattanooga Police said a customer at the Brainerd Walmart who discovered that his silver pickup truck was being stolen fired several shots at the thief.

There was no report of anyone being hit in the parking lot shooting shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The customer left his keys on a counter and walked off without them. A person who found them went out to the parking lot and used the remote to locate the vehicle.

The owner saw the vehicle being driven off as he went out on the parking lot. He then fired the shots.

No bystanders were hit and it is unknown if the truck thief was injured. He has not been apprehended.

Police said, "The justification of the shooting has not yet been determined."
