Frances Westbrook Jackson, 91, Flintstone, Georgia, died on Sunday, October 13, 2013 of natural causes.  

She was born to Marion Frank and Ethel Olalee Westbrook on Sept. 24, 1922. 

Mrs. Jackson was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and inspirational matriarch to the Jackson family. For many years, she was a dedicated member of Rossville First Baptist Church where she lovingly taught many children’s Sunday school classes and Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Jackson was also a member of the choir and served as a volunteer for the food bank.  In later years she was a member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church.

Always civic-minded, she served as president of the John Ross House Association.  She was active in Chattanooga Sister Cities with her husband and traveled extensively.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Lea Jackson; brother, Thayer Westbrook and sister, Janelle Westbrook Harp.

After the death of their daughter, Mrs. Jackson became a licensed practical nurse and enjoyed a fulfilling number of years at Memorial Hospital and Oak Manor Nursing Home. 

Survivors include her husband of 72 years, William Hugh Jackson; son, Robert Preston (Lynda) Jackson; daughter, Andrea Eyleen (Dr. Alex) Mitchell; grandchildren, Gregory Bryan Jackson, Douglas Clark (Elizabeth) Jackson, Andrea Lea (Cole) Thomason, Marian Elizabeth (Doug) Page, Benjamin Westbrook Jackson; great-grandchildren, Hannah Jackson, Emma Jackson, Nikolaus Jackson, John Jackson, William Page, Katherine Thomason, Sophia Jackson and Mary Elizabeth Thomason.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. David Tullock officiating.  Burial will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

Special appreciation is extended to Dr. Siobhan Duff, the staff of the Terrace at Mountain Creek, and Hospice of Chattanooga.
