Clerk And Master Lee Akers Retiring In September; Applications Taken In April

Clerk and Master Lee Akers announced Tuesday that he will be retiring in early September.

Mr. Akers has served in the post since 1996.

The two chancellors make the appointment for the office that serves Chancery Court. Current Chancellors are Frank Brown and Jeff Atherton.

Mr. Akers said the chancellors are asking that potential appointees submit resumes to him beginning in April.  Interviews will begin in May.

He said it is expected that a decision will be made in mid-June on the new appointee.

Mr. Akers is paid $106,016.
