Betty June Brannon Rector, 78, of Hixson, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013.  

She was a member of Middle Valley Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and served as AWANA Commander.  Betty also worked as a substitute teacher, preschool teacher, and child care provider. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Royce Rector; daughter, Kathy Rector; father, William Atley Brannon; mother, Bonnie Brannon;  step-mother, Blanche Brannon; brothers, William A. Brannon, Jr., Marion C. Brannon, James Lloyd Brown, and Lee M. Brown; sisters, Euleen Cote, Jeanette Swenson, and Joyce McAdams. 

Betty is survived by her sons, Ricky (Pam) Rector, Rodney (Yvette) Rector, and Mickey (Candyce) Rector; daughter, Kay (Michael) Mobbs; 11 grandchildren, Kevin (Kristin) Mobbs, Kristopher (Julie) Mobbs, Matthew (Stephanie) Rector, Korey (Mary) Mobbs, Betsy (Warren) Parks, Jessica (Rick) Stone, Seth Rector, Zachary Rector, Jared Rector, Olivia Rector, and Anna Rector; nine great-grandchildren, Chase Mobbs, Cooper Mobbs, Luke Mobbs, Tyler Mobbs, Zoe Mobbs, Ruby Mobbs, Nora Rector, Knox Mobbs, and Lily Rector; brothers, Gene Brannon, and Edward (Virginia) Brannon; sisters, Carrie Dalton and JoAnn (Steve) Weeks, and many nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to thank Betty’s caregivers at Wellington Place of Hixson who showed her love and concern for four years.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343, and 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at the church. 

Funeral services will be held at Middle Valley Baptist Church on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. with Pastors Kristopher Mobbs, Mickey Rector, Rodney Rector, and Gary Scott officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Middle Valley Baptist Church, 7901 Middle Valley Road, Hixson, Tn. 37343. 

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
