Art, Community And Museums: Collaborations Is Thursday At The Hunter

Jeffreen M. Hayes, Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Fellow in African American Art at the Birmingham Museum of Art will discuss the importance of collaboration between museums and the communities they serve Thursday at the Hunter Museum. This program is part of a continuing series on African American Art presented by the Friends of African American Art.   

The program begins at 6 p.m. and a cash bar will be available.  

Friends of African American Art is an interest group formed by the Bessie Smith Cultural Center and the Hunter Museum of American Art for art lovers who are interested in preserving and showcasing African American art. Members of FAAA are dedicated to fostering a rich cultural environment for individuals of all backgrounds through education about and promotion of all facets of African American art.
