Erlanger Honors Lawrence, Perrin And Main At 2013 Distinguished Physicians’ Brunch

The Baroness Erlanger Foundation honored ophthalmologist Harry M. Lawrence, MD, pediatrician Millard F. Perrin, MD, and community honoree Robert P. (Bob) Main, FACHE, at the annual Baroness Erlanger Foundation Distinguished Physicians' Brunch on Saturday, March 2, at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club.

The three individuals were honored for their unquestionable character, as well as their enduring commitment to foster quality medicine within the region with the utmost human compassion.

Dr. Harry Lawrence has practiced ophthalmology in Chattanooga for 45 years and continues to see office patients two days each week. For 25 years, he served as Chair and Associate Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga (UTCOMC), based at Erlanger. Dr. Lawrence received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis and completed fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Millard Perrin practiced pediatrics in private practice in Chattanooga for 35 years. During the 1970s, he was an associate professor of Clinical Pediatrics at UTCOMC, based at Erlanger. Dr. Perrin also served as Chief of Pediatrics at Children's Hospital and as Chief of Staff at Erlanger Health System. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, followed by an internship at Erlanger and a pediatric residency at T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital.

Robert P. (Bob) Main, FACHE, has served as president and chief executive officer of Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation since the facility was in its developmental stage in 1988. He was previously associated with hospitals in Illinois, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Iowa and New York. Mr. Main is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and previously served as the ACHE Regent for Eastern Tennessee. He received a bachelor of science degree in education at SUNY College at Buffalo, and a master of arts degree in hospital and health administration from the University of Iowa.
