Police have arrested Kelvin Labron Ellison, 42, of 5620 Spring Garden Lane, after a man who was robbed and shot said he looked up his photo on a mugshot website.

Ellison is charged with especially aggravated robbery.

He got a five-year sentence on a robbery from 1993 and pleaded guilty to attempted robbery in 2008 and received a suspended two-year term.

In an incident on March 10, Patrick Buttram said he was returning to his Talley Road home after getting ice cream for his wife when he saw a vehicle nearby that appeared to be broken down. He said he checked with the two men inside and they said everything was OK.

He said as he got out of his car and approached his front door one of the men in the car came up to him. The man pointed a revolver at him while demanding money.

He said he had $100, a cellphone and jewelry. After they took the cellphone and jewelry, they demanded access to his house, but he refused. His wife then opened the door and immediately shut it when she saw that a gun was pointed at her husband's head.

The man with the gun then became frustrated and shot the victim in the upper leg before leaving.

He said the suspects were black males around six feet tall. The one with the revolver had a mustache and was wearing a tan sweater.
