Police Looking For Cross In Shooting Of Ex-Girlfriend

Chattanooga Police are looking for Chaston Cross in an assault and shooting of his former girlfriend.

On Wednesday at approximately 9:45 p.m., police responded to a shooting at 1524 East 26th St. The victim, 23-year-old Tiffany Roberts, had been assaulted and shot in the shoulder by the 38-year-old Cross, police said.

Ms. Roberts was transported to a local hospital for treatment to her injuries which appeared to be non-life-threatening. Cross had fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Warrants for attempted murder, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment have been filed for the arrest of Cross who has not yet been located. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525 or Crime Stoppers at 423-698-3333.


Woman Whose Car Landed On Tracks Below Wilcox Boulevard Viaduct Sues City

A woman whose car went off the Wilcox Boulevard Viaduct and landed on railroad tracks below has sued the city of Chattanooga. East Lake Getting Power Scape Play System; Fitness Zones Planned At East Lake, Carver, South Chattanooga

The community of East Lake is getting a Power Scape play system. The City Council is set to take action on the facility on Tuesday. The purchase is from the local Playcore firm, which is giving the city a break of $85,155 on the cost as part of its "Give Where We Live" program. That leaves a city cost of $84,844. By having no curb cuts on Walnut Street, it makes that special block near the bridge more inviting and safer for pedestrians.
