Sylvester Lee Combs, 81, of Chattanooga, Tennessee died on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
Lee had a loving sweet spirit He loved the Lord and his family. He loved going to East Gate to walk and to Krispy Kreme for coffee and doughnuts. He had a terrific memory and enjoyed anything weather related, especially maps he also enjoyed reading.
He was born Feb. 13, 1932, in Ooltewah, the son of the late Wilbur Crocket Combs and Rosa Smith Combs.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Smith Ramsey, Marie Reynolds, Frankie Harris and Faithe Dutto.
Survivors include his niece, Anna M. (Shawn) Tilley; great-niece, Faithe Tilley; nieces and nephews in California and Cleveland.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, May 17, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Harkins officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. on Friday.
