Wallace Houston Cunningham, 71, of Dunlap, TN, died Monday morning, May 27, 2013 at Kindred Hospital.
He retired from coal mining after 25 years, then for the next 22 years he owned and operated the Dunlap Amoco and Downtown BP. He was loved and liked by all.
He was preceded in death by parents, Herman Max and Arnie Lee Nunley Cunningham; brothers, twin Willie Hugh, Herman Sr. and baby John Allen Cunningham; and nephew, Craig Allen Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy Boyd Cunningham; son, Wallace Jr.; two daughters, Leann and Michael Simons and Cynthia and Michael Hobbs; nine grandchildren, Krista and Steven Simons, Justin, Jared, Jacob and Joshua Hobbs, Brandon Minton, Kylee Cunningham and Ryan Wallace Fisk; two great-grandchildren, Elania Marie and Shawn Houston; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 30 at 1 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Lanny Tate officiating. Burial will be in Rankin Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 29 from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. CDT.
