Kelvin Scott Takes Seat On Election Commission

Kelvin L. Scott has been appointed by the Tennessee Election Commission to serve a two-year term on the Hamilton County Election Commission.   He was sworn in at the Election Commission by Jerry Summers, secretary, on Wednesday morning.

He takes the place of James Anderson as a Democratic member.   

Commissioner Scott is an employee of the Hamilton County School System and member of Olivet Baptist Church.  He has been very active in the Hamilton County Democratic Party and coordinated youth voter registrations and voter turnout for the 2012 elections.

He is a graduate of Tyner High School and Anne Arundel Community College in Baltimore, and also a veteran of the United States Army. 

Commissioner Scott said, “I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to serve the citizens of Hamilton County and will work diligently to ensure the integrity of our democratic process.”

Chairman Mike Walden was absent.

The other commissioners chose to give him a new term as chairman.
