Chattanooga's Hollywog Wins Australian Design Award

Chattanooga-based Hollywog continued its recent success by winning the Australian International Design Award for "Best in Category" for the WiTouch and WiTouch Pro in the Medical and Scientific section.

Keith Hagy, vice president for product development, said, "Following on from our win in the red dot 'best of the best' design award earlier this year, this is validation of Hollywog’s commitment to world class design and a great reward for our hard working team."

On the 30th May 2013 the Australian International Design Awards (AIDA) Presentation Ceremony took place in Sydney as part of the Vivid Festival. Hosted this year by 2013 Australian of the Year, Ita Buttrose, the AIDA's are widely regarded as the Australian design industry’s night of nights. Held annually, the gala function plays host to more than 700 designers, product manufacturers, media, government officials, VIPs, students and emerging design talent.

Hollywog was represented at the Presentation Ceremony by their Australian design and engineering partners, Katapult Design and Procept Australia.

“All projects of this caliber are a team effort and WiTouch was no different.  It is both humbling and rewarding to come out on top against such a strong field of contenders,” said Nathan Pollock, Director of Katapult Design.

Mr. Hagy added, “This prestigious award exemplifies our dedication to unique design and high quality to evolve ordinary medical devices to extraordinary levels. I am very proud of the Hollywog team and our development partners based in Australia: Katapult Design and Procept Australia. Our global collaboration defines the standard for design and development required to succeed in today’s global market.”

Hollywog has global relationships with distribution companies and suppliers established in over 20 countries. The executive management team has over 70 years of industry-specific experience, with extensive worldwide contacts in distribution, sourcing, product development and regulatory compliance, it was stated.
