Alma Ruth Clay Cowley, 83, died on Sunday, August 11, 2013 in a Cleveland, Ohio hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mamie Clay; brothers, William “Bill” Clay and Charles Eugene Clay; sisters, Tommie Lee Clay Paris and Dorothy Clay.
Left to cherish her memories, her loving kindness to all she would meet are her best friend and loving and devoted son, Maurice Clay; her favorite and loving sister, Emogene Clay Chubbs of Wildwood, Georgia; her best friend and caring cousin, Betty Jo Pollack of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Nell Frances Clay and Carolyn Clay of Chattanooga; loving grandchildren, loving nieces and devoted nephews; other relatives and many very good friends.
Homegoing services will be on Wednesday, August 21, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist in Wildwood, GA, with Pastor Larry Owens officiating and Pastor Thomas Sparks assisting. Interment will be in Hooker Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
