Dorothy Smith
Dorothy Moore “Sis” Smith, 80, died on August 21, 2013 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Dorothy was an active member of the Howard Alumni Class of 1951, where she served as secretary. Dorothy retired from SunTrust Bank after 30 plus years of service. Dorothy was a long-time member of Olivet Baptist Church and attended New City Fellowship Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ellen J. Moore and William Moore.
She is survived by her brother James Moore, her children, Ellen E. Smith-Barlow (David), Grady Smith II (Valerie) and Myron L. Smith Sr. (Sonya); seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Homegoing services will be on Saturday, August 31, at noon at Olivet Baptist Church. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
The body will lie in state on Friday, Aug. 30, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
