Street Smarts Biking Mini Camp Set For Oct. 21

Street Smarts, a one day mini camp on biking basics will be held Monday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Tennessee Riverpark, Marsh Meeting Room.  

The camp is for ages 8-15 years old and will include instruction on biking rules, safety and etiquette as participants spend a day on the trails of the Tennessee Riverpark. 

Participants must be able to ride unassisted and must wear helmets. 

Cost is $30 per rider and there is an additional fee for early arrival/late pick -up.  The class is limited to 10 kids.

UT Students Complete 1,157-Mile Tour Of The Tennessee River

Four states, five days, 1,157 miles and all the catfish they could eat. A dozen University of Tennessee, Knoxville, College of Architecture and Design students have completed their tour of the Tennessee River, but their work has just begun. Bryan College Wins FLW College Fishing Southeastern Conference Event On Lake Chickamauga

The Bryan College duo of Connor Cohran of Dalton, Ga., and Cole Sands, of Calhoun, Tn., won the FLW College Fishing Southeastern Conference event at Lake Chickamauga Saturday with five bass weighing 16 pounds, 3 ounces. City To Begin Shipping Much Of Its Garbage To Bradley County

City Public Works Administrator Justin Holland said the city plans to begin shipping much of its garbage to Bradley County. He said the deal is projected to extend the life of the city landfill at Birchwood by 15 years.
