Road Closings For Construction Announced

  • Friday, September 20, 2013

The 600 block of West Manning Street will be closed from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, for removal of the US Highway 27 overhead bridge spans. Work is weather permitting, and detours will be posted.

Utility crews will be making valve replacements around the intersection of Chestnut Street at West 6th Street during the week of Sept. 23-27, 2013. Exact dates are still to be determined.  The southbound traffic on Chestnut Street will be detoured to 6th Street and then south on Broad Street. Eastbound West 6th Street will be detoured north on Chestnut Street and then east on West 5th Street. These two lane closures/detours will be performed in succession.

The 600 block of North Moore Road will be narrowed to one lane in each direction from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day from Tuesday through Thursday. This is for a utility project.
