Louis Wright is retiring as finance director for Hamilton County government.
County Mayor Jim Coppinger said Mr. Wright's longtime assistant, Albert Kiser, will be stepping into the job. They have worked together in county finance for over 35 years.
County Mayor Coppinger said, "All the citizens of Hamilton County should extremely proud of Louis Wright's 38 years of service and all the accomplishments he has made for this county over the past several decades."
He said one of those is gaining a AAA bond rating from all three major rating services.
The county mayor said, "I had an extremely close working relationship with Louis over the past three years and he will certainly be missed. I am happy he will be able to enjoy this time with his family."
He said Mr. Kiser had stepped in ably when Mr. Wright suffered a very serious illness last February, including handling the annual budget and a later major bond issue.
"This will be a seamless transition," he said.
Mr. Wright also serves as the treasurer for the county Water and Wastewater Treatment Authority (WWTA).
