Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Wreck At Riverside Drive And Wilcox Boulevard; Police Officer Involved In 2nd Wreck On Amnicola

One person was killed in a single-vehicle wreck at Riverside Drive and Wilcox Boulevard on Friday morning.

At approximately 7:50 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to the crash at 2000 Riverside Dr.  Traffic Investigators determined that Andreas Jackson was traveling south on Riverside Drive when he struck the concrete base of a power pole.  Mr. Jackson died as a result of injuries sustained from the crash.  

Traffic investigators are working to determine the cause of the accident and more information will be released when available.

A Chattanooga police officer was involved in a second accident on Amnicola Highway, near the C.B. Robinson Bridge. The police vehicle suffered heavy damage.

Some ice and snow remain in patches on area streets and highways.
