Angela Ballard
Derryberry Public Relations announced the addition of Angela Smith Ballard to the firm. Ms. Ballard, who has a diverse and rich background in public relations, will join the team as an account manager.
Ms. Ballard is no stranger to the Chattanooga community or the public relations field. Her extensive portfolio includes time as chief learning officer for WTCI, director of Marketing and Public Relations at Chattanooga Goodwill Industries and president of Originality Public Relations.
Most recently, Ms. Ballard has spent her time in the classroom at UTC, serving as an adjunct professor while working toward her doctorate degree in learning and leadership. When she’s not in the classroom, Ms. Ballard can be heard on the airwaves of Sunny 92.3 as the station’s weekend host.
In addition to her professional resume, Ms. Ballard brings impressive volunteer experience to the firm. She currently serves as president-elect for the Junior League of Chattanooga and is active with United Way of Chattanooga, UT board of directors and Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute. Ms. Ballard was recognized by Chatter Magazine as one of Chattanooga’s top 20 professionals under the age of 40 and has been the recipient of multiple Incline Awards from the Lookout Chapter of the PRSA.
Ms. Ballard holds a B.A. in Communications from The University of Tennessee Chattanooga and a Master of Science in Public Relations from UT Knoxville. She is accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America.
“Angela is an excellent addition to the firm,” said Andy Derryberry, DPR co-owner. “Angela knows what public relations is all about in Chattanooga. Her experience, skill set, and work ethic fit the Derryberry brand. We’re glad to have her on our team.”
Ms. Ballard and her husband Michael reside in Chattanooga with their two sons.
