Weston Wamp Supporter For Mary Headrick - And Response (2)

  • Sunday, October 26, 2014

I am an Independent, but lean and usually vote Republican.  I voted for Weston Wamp in the primary and will probably do so again if/when he runs again.  But, I am going to vote for Mary Headrick in November.  Her views more closely match Wamp's than Fleishmann's in my opinion.

I attended the candidate forum before the primary and was really impressed with Dr. Headrick.  She definitely has the resume to represent my district.  At the same time, I was suprisingly unimpressed by Chuck.

Even if I was not impressed by Headrick, I believe I would vote for her.  If nothing else other than out of spite for Fleishmann.  He ran such a negative campaign in the primary that it left a bad vibe for me.

James,

I was struck by your comment, "Her [Dr. Headrick] views more closely match Wamp's than Fleischmann's in my opinion." I guess what you are saying proves that Chuck was right back at the primary debate: Weston's is practically a Democrat (Chuck's words, not mine).

What this really goes to show is that Chuck will win again next week, because those views have been voted on once already this race and the 3rd District would rather have Chuck than those views.

Do you think "do nothing" Chuck could do his job if he didn't face inter-party criticism and a challenger every term? Heck, it might even help the Democrats bring a candidate with a fighting chance to the table.

Dr. Headrick is the best for representing our congressional district. In tonight's meeting of the two leading candidates, she showed wisdom and responsibility. She has an understanding of issues that relate directly and indirectly to our district and our nation and our world.  She understands the needs of our veterans, our students, our retirees (myself included in this one), the energy situation that impacts this area and the world, budget and finance issues.

Possibly the most important thing, in my opinion, is that she is open to supporting the choice of leadership in the House of Representative without the knee-jerk manner that our current representative supports.
