Peyton Manning To Speak In Athens, Tn., Next June 27

The Athens Chamber of Commerce announced that Peyton Manning will be the speaker at the 9th Annual Benefit Dinner on June 27, 2015.

Manning is a Super Bowl winning quarterback and a five-time NFL MVP. He owns the second-most wins, passing yards, touchdown passes, completions, and attempts by a quarterback in NFL history. His 13 postseason appearances rank first by a quarterback in league annals along with his 84 career 300-yard passing games.

The recipient of the Byron “Whizzer” White Humanitarian Award as well as the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2005,Manning serves as a member of the American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet, National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Advisory Board, the Board of Visitors of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Tennessee, and The Pat Summit Foundation Advisory Board. He formed the PeyBack Foundation in 1999 to promote future success of disadvantaged youth through various youth programs.

The event will be at 7 p.m. at the McMinn County High School Gym, 2215 S. Congress Parkway, Athens, Tn.
