Camp Chair Cinema: "The City Dark" Nov. 7
"The City Dark" is the offering from theLookout Wild Film Festival at our next, free Camp Chair Cinema, happening Fri., Nov.
7, 7 p.m.
 at Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. in Coolidge Park. The gorgeous film looks at what's happening to our views of the night sky on a "planet that never sleeps." BYO camp chair for the indoor screening. We'll provide the popcorn. The screening of this PBS award-winning film is co-hosted by WTCI.

Hike the Trails of the TN River Gorge Nov. 8
The Nickajack Naturalist will join Outdoor Chattanooga for a hike on trails overlooking the TN River Gorge on Sat., Nov. 8, beginning at9 a.m., in Prentice Cooper State Forest. The moderate, 5-mile hike will take participants to Snoopers Rock, and the Mullins Cove and Ransom Hollow overlooks. Though there are no severe elevation gains, the trails are rugged and some hiking experience is preferred. Learn to Ride a Bicycle Nov. 10
Outdoor Chattanooga will host our free, monthly Learn to Ride a Bicycle class onMon., Nov. 10, 6 p.m., at our facility, 200 River St. in Coolidge Park. In less than an hour, our experienced staff will teach beginners of all ages a few simple techniques for practicing balance, stopping and starting. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Rapid Learning Winter Kayak Skills Practice Nov. 12
Outdoor Chattanooga's Rapid Learning Whitewater Program will continue winter kayak skills practice on Tues., Nov. 12, with two sessions: 7 and 8 p.m., at the Southern Adventist University Hulsey Wellness Center's indoor pool. Join the practice to keep your whitewater kayak skills sharp during your winter break from paddling. A $2 admission fee applies to the center's pool. Skilled Belayers for the ICL
The Interscholastic Climbing League needs volunteer belayers for several scheduled meets, including Sat., Nov. 1 and Nov. 15. Come help the region's newest high school aged climbers succeed! Email Terri Chapin or call (423) 643-6888 to volunteer.

Members of the region's cycling community are volunteering their time to map Chattanooga area routes for America's bicycling interstate system. Several options are on the table for the U.S.Bicycle Route System to come through town.

CHA175 Birthday Bicycle Ride Nov. 15 
The City of Chattanooga's Transportation Dept. will host a guided bicycle tour through city neighborhoods and parks on Sat., Nov. 15, from 1-3 p.m. Starting at Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. in Coolidge Park, the 12-mile route will travel through the heart of the city, highlighting neighborhoods and parks.  Recommended for adults and older children when accompanied by an adult. BYO-bike, borrow one, or rent an electric bike.Details here.
 
Happy Birthday, Chattanooga! Nov. 15
The grand finale of the City of Chattanooga's 175th birthday week will be a celebration in Coolidge Park on Sat., Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is invited to come listen to live folk, jazz and rock music, play on inflatable games, touch a truck and cut the giant Moon Pie birthday cake.

Upchuck 50K Nov. 8
Sixty ultra runners will take on the season's most grueling, technical race at the Upchuck 50K,happening on Sat., Nov. 8 on the Three Gorges section of the Cumberland Trail. Hikers: be warned that the trail segment from the Soddy-Daisy Senior Center to the Lower Leggett Rd. trailhead will be in use for the race most of the day.

*Will Gadd: Weekend with a Pro Nov. 14-16
The American Alpine Club, Rock/Creek and UTC Outdoors will host a weekend of clinics, seminars and other special events with Will Gadd, professional climber (and kayaker, paraglider, guide and coach). Highlights of the event will include climbing clinics, a Pint Night at Rock/Creek on Nov. 15 and a free seminar on Fri., Nov. 14, from 3-6 p.m: "So You Want to Work in the Outdoor Industry?" in the University of TN, Chattanooga, University Center, Raccoon Mtn. room. 
5K Run to Remember Nov. 15
The Alzheimer's Association hosts the 5K Run to Remember on Sat., Nov. 15, at the TN Riverpark. Funds raised help the organization's efforts to support those who have Alzheimer's and the people who care for them. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Run begins at 9.
