Frances Gartenhaus Hardy, 85, of Signal Mountain died on Thursday, December 11, 2014.
She was a native of Atlanta and had lived the last few years of her life in the Chattanooga area. She graduated with top honors from North Fulton High School. She went on to graduate from Mercer University in Macon, Ga., and she pledged with Chi Omega Sorority. She was active in the League of Women Voters and her passions in life were playing bridge and enjoying the opera.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Gartenhaus Smith.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Carol Hardy White and Franklin C. White of Chattanooga and Joan Paige Hardy White of Roswell, Ga.; sister, Mirium (Fred) Stanly of Atlanta; brother, Paul Gartenhaus of Ringgold; grandchildren, Philip A. White III of New Providence, N.J., Olivia L. White of Sarasota, Fl.; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Minerva.
