Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson with Mr. and Mrs. Claus
People can bring their Christmas gifts to TJ Maxx on Paul Huff Parkway on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12-13, from noon-6 p.m. to have them wrapped for Christmas giving. A crew of wrappers and bow makers will professionally wrap the packages for a donation per package.
Fund raised will benefit the programs and outreach of Creative Story Project, a non-profit corporation that provides a form of therapy to those suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia.
This event is a collaboration with Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson and Creative Story Project with donations of wrapping supplies from various organizations and churches in the area. All monetary donations will go directly toward the Creative Story Project programs.
Creative Story Project is an active member of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and has received a $5,000 grant to help support programming. The founders of the program are Pete and Joyce Vanderpool, both certified Time Slips trainers, and long time storytellers. Their Story Power program uses components of the Time Slips training and can be used for other groups such as children with learning challenges, youth education enhancement, inter-generational gatherings, and freedom and restoration of exploited women.
The Vanderpools and the Board of Directors thank Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson and all who assisted with this project, and they encourage the public to have gifts wrapped, but also to read a few of the stories written by these special people who happen to be mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, sisters or brothers.
