DA Asks TBI To Probe Possible Forgery Of East Ridge Wrecker Ordinance

  • Wednesday, February 26, 2014

District Attorney Bill Cox has asked the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to look into the possibility that a city ordinance in East Ridge was forged.

Illana Tate of the TBI said, "Yesterday, District Attorney General Cox requested that TBI begin an investigation on the possible forgery of city ordinance #787 which relates to Wrecking and Towing services.

"There is no other information I can specify or confirm at this time."

The East Ridge Council has held a number of public discussions about the wrecker ordinance, with several council members saying it needs to be changed.

The current ordinance gives exclusive right to be on the rotation for police towing calls to just three firms.

Two of the companies are owned by the same person - Buddy Broome. They are Broome Wrecker Service and East Ridge Auto Electric.
