Baylor swept a doubleheader to highlight Friday's action in the Scenic City Baseball Classic.

McCallie was 1-1, while Cleveland, St. Benedict, Mt. Juliet and Station Camp also recorded wins.

"I am proud of you for getting a win against a good team (Northwest Whitfield)," said McCallie coach Greg Payne speaking to his players after game two. "We ran the bases well in the second game (steal of home among five stolen bases), and Winston (Whitener) looked as good in the seventh as he did in the first."

McCallie 4, Northwest Whitfield 0: McCallie led 3-0 before getting its first hit in the fifth ... no-hitter was broken up on Tyson Buchanan's two-out single followed by a Quinn Smith RBI single ... Blue Tornado score a run in the second on an error, two in the third - one on steal of home by Spencer Morgan ... Winston Whitener had a 3-hit complete game shutout victory.

Station Camp 7, McCallie 4:In game one, Carter Groves was 3-3 with a double and starting pitcher Jamie Haefele was 2-4 with two runs and an RBI for victorious Station Camp in a 7-4 win against McCallie.

John Hennen (2-4, 2 RBIs) and Spencer Morgan (2-4, 1 Run) led the McCallie offense.

City, County Pull The Plug On Downtown Shooting Range

City and county officials have decided to keep the police firing range at Moccasin Bend rather than building an expensive new indoor facility at the former Farmers Market property.
