Wilderness Survival Lecture Is At Southern March 27

Southern Adventist University will host a presentation by master tracker John McCallum titled “Wilderness Survival: Tips and Tricks to Keep You Alive in the Woods” on March 27.  The 7:30 p.m. event is part of the E.O. Grundset Lecture Series presented by Southern’s Biology Department.

Mr. McCallum teaches classes in wilderness survival, primitive skills, and bush craft. His talk at Southern will focus on the use of animals and nature for orienteering, calculating time and distance, danger warning signals, and techniques to help travel through the woods like a pro. Basic gear and survival priorities will also be discussed.

The lecture, held in Southern’s Hulsey Wellness Center, is free and open to the public.
