Donna Giarrusso, 54, Killed, 2 Injured In Crash At Highway 58 And Champion Road

One person was killed and two injured in a crash on Highway 58 at Champion Road on Thursday morning.

The victim was 54-year-old Donna Giarrusso.

At 7:13 a.m., Chattanooga Police officers responded to 5200 Highway 58 on an accident with injuries. Upon arrival officers found two vehicles that were involved.

Police said a four-door sedan was attempting to cross the southbound lane of Highway 58 from Champion Road when it was hit by a four-door truck, which was traveling southbound on Highway 58.

The driver of the sedan, Ms. Giamusso, was dead at the scene. A young passenger in the sedan was transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the truck, 54-year-old William Young, was also transported to the hospital.

Southbound Highway 58 traffic was blocked off at Hickory Valley Road and northbound Highway 58 traffic was blocked off at Eller Road.

The accident is still under investigation.
