Prep Tennis Teams Stay Unbeaten

Soddy Daisy Girls, Boyd Buchanan Girls Stay Perfect

Girls tennis teams from Soddy Daisy (8-0) and Boyd-Buchanan (6-0) posted victories Wednesday to remain undefeated on the season.

Soddy Daisy 5, Chattanooga Christian 4
The Lady Trojans hosted the defending D-I A-AA state champion Chargers from CCS and won 5-4 to improve to 8-0. 

Soddy Daisy led 2-1 after doubles, but CCS (5-3) won three of the first five singles matches to even the match at 4-4.

In the deciding match, Soddy Daisy's Abigail Ellis remained undefeated on the season at 8-0 with an 8-4 win against Emmie Cornell at No.
3 singles. Other singles winners for the Lady Trojans were No.2 Chloe Mitchell and No.4 Katelynn Coyner.

Singles winners for CCS were No.1 Hannah Henry, No.5 Sarah Smith and No.6 Lizzy Hoffecker.

"This win was a great team effort," said Trojans coach Lorri Johnson.

In a non-district match, the Boyd-Buchanan girls team defeated Hixson, 9-0 at Chattanooga State.
At No.1 singles, the Bucs' Makenna Thomas defeated Michelle Phillips, 8-3. 

The Bucs improve to 7-0 overall, while Hixson is 6-5.

Next Match: Boyd Buchanan faces Cleveland today at Lee Univ. ... Hixson hosts Cleveland, April 21.
