Parking Meters Will Not Be Enforced On Good Friday

The Chattanooga Parking Authority has announced downtown parking meters will not be enforced (and need not be paid) on Friday, in honor of the Good Friday holiday. Paid parking for all street meters will also be suspended for these remaining holidays in 2014:           

Memorial Day (Monday, May 26)          
Independence Day (Friday, July 4)          
Labor Day (Monday, September 1)          
Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 27 and Day After – Friday, November 28)          
Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25) 

Parking in  an unlawful area or manner (bus or loading zones, yellow curb, no parking, handicap space, Fort Wood Residential District, etc.) is enforceable 24 hours / 7 days a week. For more Information, contact Chattanooga Parking Authority at 648-4031.

A Father-Daughter Dance is planned for Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at the Alhambra Shrine off East Brainerd Road, across from CSLA.  The dance is open to the public. Hamilton County Schools Closed Tuesday Due To Icy Road Conditions, Other Closings Announced

Due to icy road conditions in the mountain areas, Hamilton County School will be closed today. School age child care will be also be closed. Twelve month employees will report by 10 a.m. Chattanooga Christian School began closing early at 10 a.m. Marion, Grundy and Polk schools are closed Tuesday due to the inclement weather. Couple Arrested After 373 Grams Of Ice Meth And Loaded Gun Found At Their Hickory Valley Road Apartment

Federal authorities have arrested a Chattanooga couple after finding them with 373.4 grams of Ice meth at an apartment in East Brainerd. Charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance are Sergio Lizaola and Amy Lee Ramos-Collazo. Lizaola is also charged on a firearm count.
