US Senate Candidate Representative Joe Carr will be the featured speaker Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga Tea Party monthly meeting. The meeting will take place at The Century Club Banquet Hall, 3221 Harrison Pike (off Access Road, just south of the Highway 153-Amnicola Highway intersection, next to The Lighting Gallery).
Rep. Carr is a conservative state representative from Lascassas in Middle Tennessee who has served three terms in the Tennessee state legislature.
"Rep. Carr is a strong advocate for limited government, the Constitution and states’ rights and has established a steady reputation for life and the 2nd Amendment," Tea Party supporters stated. "He led Tennessee to enact the toughest illegal immigration laws in the nation and his legislative accomplishments have helped Tennessee become the fourth most business friendly state in the country."
They went on to say, "Rep. Carr’s run for the US Senate stems from his frustration over the failure to lead by our elected officials in Washington and in particular Senator Lamar Alexander. Alexander’s support for tax increases, including the internet sales tax, and many of his other positions place Tennessee’s senior Senator at odds with a significant number of Tennessee voters, including many within his own party."
Attendees at the meeting will be given the opportunity to meet Rep. Carr as well as ask him questions during a question and answer period following his remarks.
As a reminder, please be sure to bring a non-perishable canned good item as the Chattanooga Tea Party is committed to supporting our local Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
