Decosimo announced that Director of Forensic Accounting and Internal Audit Services Bill Acuff and Mr. Benjamin Dusing, founder and managing partner of BGD Law, will co-present at a white-collar crime seminar in Covington, Ky., on June 12. The event, which will be hosted by their respective firms, will focus on the topic of how to prevent and detect employee theft.
Through the presentation of “Stealing from the Company: How to Prevent and Detect Theft and What to Do When You Find Out,” Mr. Acuff and Mr. Dusing will address the growing concern over white-collar crime. They will discuss strategies to prevent and detect common fraud schemes, and they will also address best practices for taking action when an organization suspects an employee of stealing from the company.
A Certified Public Accountant Certified in Financial Forensics, Mr. Acuff has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting providing assurance services, conducting investigations, providing litigation support, performing forensic business analyses and audits, leading outsourced internal audit services, evaluating internal control systems and conducting fraud risks assessments and training. He holds designations as a certified fraud examiner, a certified internal auditor and a chartered global management accountant.
Prior to founding BGD Law, Mr. Dusing served as an assistant United States attorney in the Southern District of Ohio and the Eastern District of Kentucky. During his tenure with the U.S. Attorney’s office, Mr. Dusing specialized in the prosecution of white-collar crimes. He provides experienced and results-driven legal representation in the areas of white collar criminal and civil litigation, business consulting, and dispute resolution. In the white collar practice area, Mr. Dusing draws upon his prior experience as former federal prosecutor to represent individuals and corporations in white collar criminal and regulatory investigations and prosecutions.
The white-collar crime prevention seminar will take place the Metropolitan Club at 50 East RiverCenter Boulevard, Suite 1900 in Covington.
