Baylor Swim Club members Sam McHugh and Lucas Kaliszak both ranked as the number one ranked eighteen- year old high school swimmer in the country for the 2013-2014 short course competitive swimming season. Additionally, Baylor Swimmers Christian Selby and Mathias Porter also ranked very high in the age group nationally.
McHugh ranks first nationally among eighteen year olds in the 500 yard freestyle 4:16.7, the 1000 yard freestyle 8:53.6, and the 200 yard butterfly 1:43.2. Sam also ranked third in the 200 yard IM 1:46.2, and forth in the 400 yard IM 3:45.4, the 100 yard backstroke 47.7, and the 200 yard backstroke 1:42.7.
Kaliszak ranks first for eighteen year olds in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 46.4.
Selby ranked tenth for sixteen year olds in the 100 yard freestyle, and Porter ranked 14th for his age in the 200 yard breastroke.
This is the fifth time in the last ten years that a member of the Baylor Swim Club ranked first in the country in an event for their particular age group during the short course swim season.
