Winford Paul “Wink” Cantrell, 76, of Cleveland, TN, passed away at his home on Friday, June 13, 2014 surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 22, 1937 to the late James Jackson Cantrell and Jennie Cantrell. He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church for the past 14 years and a lifelong resident of this area.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Cantrell; and grandson, Robert “Bobby” Cantrell.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patricia “Patty” Cantrell; one daughter, Margaret “Sissy” (Lebron) Johnson; four sons, Winford Cantrell Jr. (Kelley Hooper), James “Jack” (Jeannie) Cantrell, Charles (Dora) Cantrell and John (Amie) Cantrell; one step-son, Billy (Tracy) Carver; grandchildren, Jessica (Allen) Williams, Rachel (BJ) Barnes, Elizabeth Cantrell, Lauren (Ryan) Viva, Brandon (April) Cantrell, Brady Swafford Cantrell, Jennifer (Tyler) Holwell, Eric Johnson, Thomas Cantrell, Charles Cantrell Jr., Jacob Cantrell, Johnny (Kelly) Cantrell, Kevin (Anna) Cantrell, Kaylin Cantrell and Bryson Cantrell; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, James “Jim” Cantrell of Harrison, TN; sister, Virginia Hester of Cleveland; special friends, Beth Satterfield and Mike Tatum; and several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held for Wink at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, at Maple Grove Baptist Church located at 9525 Birchwood Pike, Harrison, TN, 37341 with Brother Ronnie Dotson officiating. Interment will follow the service in Harrison Cemetery with Jimmy Runyun, Brandon Cantrell, Johnny Cantrell, Eric Johnson, Thomas Cantrell, Kevin Cantrell, Charles Cantrell Jr. and Jacob Cantrell serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church from 3-9 p.m. on Monday, June 16, and from 12-2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17.
