Ray Anthony Sledge
A Chattanooga man was arrested a month after police say he tried to shoot his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of the Rite Aid on McCallie Avenue.
The woman told police she was approached by Ray Anthony Sledge, 51, on the night of May 13. She said he made threats to her, saying "I'm not through with you yet."
She said at that point, she ran across the street to Mary's Lounge. However, she said when she left that location, Sledge was waiting for her again in the Rite Aid parking lot.
She told police he first fired a shot into the air, then started shooting at her. After firing twice in her direction, she said he got in his car and fled. The woman was not hit by any of the shots.
When police arrived, they found .45 mm shell casings on the ground.
Sledge was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
