Dallas Bay Volunteer firefighters worked quickly to save three dogs from dying in a house fire on Sunday morning.

At 8:30 a.m., a 911 call was made by a motorist reporting fire and smoke coming from back of the house at 2000 Dallas Lake Road.

Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene within four minutes confirming heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the house. Firefighters entered the house, found one bedroom on fire and contained the fire to the one room.

Other firefighters found the three dogs trapped in the house.

No injuries were reported.

Chief Markus Fritts said the homeowner, David Carter and his family, had left earlier in the morning for vacation. Neighbors were able to contact the Carter family and informed them of the bad news.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
