Taylor's Championship Rodeo Set For Aug. 8-9

The SRA/IPRA -sanctioned Championship Rodeo will be held Friday and Saturday, Aug. 8-9, at Taylors Ruritan Club Arena, off Highway 64.

The 34th annual Taylors rodeo will feature a professional rodeo announcer, pro rodeo clown and barrel man. There will also be pony rides, vendors and a mechanical bull.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for children ages 7 to 12 and free for ages 6 and under.  

Taylors Ruritan Club Arena is at 221 Old Kinser Road.

City Installing 3 New Sidewalks In East Chattanooga

Construction is underway on three new sidewalks in East Chattanooga, which officials say will create safer access to homes and jobs, connect neighborhoods, and improve the City’s network of sidewalks. 2 Witnesses To A Murder Refuse To Testify At Jury Trial

Two men who prosecutors say witnessed a murder in Hixson on Jan. 31, 2014, on Wednesday refused to tell their story to a jury. Criminal Court Judge Barry Steelman ordered Andrew Biro and Jacob Tyler "T.Y." Keel to answer questions from prosecutor Lance Pope, but they both refused. PETA And Humane Educational Society Offer Reward For Torture-Killing Of Dog After Envelope Mailed From Chattanooga

An envelope postmarked from Chattanooga and containing a photo of a dog strung between two trees arrived at PETA's office in Virginia Tuesday, along with the severed ear of a dog.
