Here is the weekly road construction report for Hamilton County:

U.S. 27 (SR-29) reconstruction project from Manufacturers Road (Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River) to U.S. 127 (SR-8, Signal Mountain Road/Boulevard):  Weather permitting, the contractor may have lane closures throughout the project area on weeknights to perform road work.  They will also be working on retaining walls and bridges throughout the project area.  During nighttime work, at least one lane will remain open in each direction.  The contractor will close Whitehall Road from Nye Drive to the Pinnacle Apartments rear entrance starting Monday, July 7 and ending on Friday, July 18.  Additionally, the contractor will close the Dayton Blvd. entrance ramp to U.S. 27 South on the evenings of Monday–Wednesday to drill for high mast lighting.  On the evenings of Thursday and Monday the contractor will close East Elmwood Drive between Whitehall Road and East Frontage Road and the right lane on U.S. 27 North from Manufacturers Road to the Signal Mountain Boulevard exit to pour the bridge deck over East Elmwood Drive.  THP will assist with traffic control on the project as necessary.  Estimated project completion date is February.

SR-58 resurfacing from Lakewood Acres Road (LM. 9.20) to Greenwood Road (LM 14.68):  During this report period, the contractor will be working on punchlist items.  Estimated completion date is July.

Construction of a State Industrial Access route serving Volkswagen Group of America, including grading, drainage and paving:  Work on this project continues.  The contractor is in the process of working on road and drainage, along with environmental measures.  Traffic will not be impacted at this time so no lane closures are needed.  Estimated project completion date is September.
