Man Shot In The Hand After His Derringer Falls To The Floor And Discharges

Police responded to Memorial Hospital on an accidental shooting call Friday and found that a man had wounded himself in the hand.

·         The victim, Dereck Labron Luster, 34, advised he was at his residence at 1216 Arlington Ave., when he exited the bed to take a plate of food to the kitchen. 

·         A small caliber handgun (derringer) became dislodged, fell to the floor and discharged.

·         The bullet struck him once in his left hand.

·         He was transported to the hospital by his girlfriend
