Mary Eleanor "Ellie" Webster was born February 15, 1922 in Chester, Pennsylvania. She was 92 and died peacefully in Signal Mountain at the Alexian Healthcare Center.
She was the daughter of Mary Eleanor (Harding) and Vincent Heinle. She spent most of her childhood years in Elizabethtown, Pa., attending Elizabethtown High School and Elizabethtown College where she earned an associate's degree in Science and graduated as a medical technologist. There she met Allen M. Webster, whom she married in 1942. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Eleanor resided for more than 30 years in Woodbury, N.J., before moving to Chattanooga, in 1979 where she was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. In later years she resided at Alexian Village in Signal Mountain, where she was a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church.
Eleanor is survived by her children, John Webster and his wife, Marilyn, of San Antonio, and Katherine Webster-O'Keefe and her husband, Robert O'Keefe of New Preston, Ct.; grandchildren, Adam Webster and Julia Webster and Emily, Megan and Shawn O'Keefe and great grandchildren, Kathryn, Zoe and Gavin. She was predeceased by her husband, Allen.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends a the funeral home on Saturday, from 12-1 p.m.
